Who We Are:

The Downtown Toronto Business Improvement Area Alliance is a coalition of leading Business Improvement Areas dedicated to strengthening the economic vitality, public spaces, and cultural vibrancy of Toronto’s core. By advocating for business-friendly policies, championing urban innovation, and fostering cross-sector collaboration, we work to ensure that downtown Toronto remains a thriving, inclusive, and dynamic place to live, work, and visit.

The Alliance comprises six leading BIAs in Toronto’s downtown core:

Bloor-Yorkville BIA

Since entrepreneur Joseph Bloor founded the Village of Yorkville in 1830, the heart and soul of Toronto has distinguished itself as a premier shopping, dining and cultural destination. The Bloor-Yorkville BIA initiates and funds many exciting, annual events and streetscape improvements, to include Yorkville Avenue and Bloor Street’s trees, gardens, and upgraded sidewalks.

Old Town Toronto BIA

The Old Town Toronto BIA, the birthplace of Toronto, is a unique eclectic destination within the city. Experience its rich history and heritage, food and cuisine (including the St. Lawrence Market), Arts and Culture including theatres and museums, and the King East Design District. Our mandate includes developing and implementing streetscape beautification, public realm improvements, master plans, and events to enhance the quality of the environment with a view to support local businesses.

Toronto Financial District BIA

The Toronto Financial BIA represents Toronto’s premier business centre. As the urban place management organization for the Financial District, initiatives include improving public spaces, showcasing activity of our thriving businesses, and identifying collaborative opportunities that ensure the Financial District and PATH are well-maintained, integrated, connected, and accessible.

Downtown Yonge BIA

A champion for the mixed-use community of 2,000+ businesses and property owners in the heart of downtown Toronto, the Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area (DYBIA) is a non-profit organization committed to strengthening the culture and economy of our world-leading downtown neighbourhood through programs, partnerships, advocacy and outreach.

Toronto Downtown West BIA

Toronto Downtown West is the concentration of arts, culture, hospitality, sports and business to bring a unique and vibrant urban experience (Toronto Entertainment District). The Toronto Downtown West BIA’s mandate is to promote, improve and preserve this dynamic area of Toronto. Benefitting from economic, environmental and social factors driving downtown growth, the Downtown West has established itself as a thriving and vibrant district for living, creating, working and enjoying entertainment.

Waterfront BIA

Supporting the development of its fast-growing area as a premier destination, the Waterfront BIA facilitates and supports collaboration across stakeholders in policy, development, events and public space improvements. This includes annual Waterfront Symposium events, the Waterfront Festival and ‘Waterfront ReConnect’ improvements at Gardiner underpasses.
